The Mission of USA’s Center for Academic
Service-Learning and Civic Engagement
(CASLCE) is to provide a student-centered
resource for members of the USA student
body, faculty, the surrounding community, and
international partners who are interested in
participating in academic service-learning and
civic engagement at the University of South
Alabama. CASLCE will provide information,
referrals, public relations, and faculty and
student development, and will serve as an
advocate for USA’s service-learning and civic
engagement activities. |

- Provide service-learning resources for
students, faculty and community
- Increase awareness of service-learning
- Provide training, seminars, and
speakers for student and faculty development
- Organize and promote
university-wide civic engagement events
- Sponsor and advise the new student organization, Students In Action, SIA
