The University of South Alabama's chapter of the American Chemical Society Student Affiliates is a busy organization. There are so many things going on that not all of our members can make it to all of them – but that's okay. We understand that students are busy, too, and occasionally have to do things like go to class and study.
   
 
In addition to our regular meetings and frequent informal gatherings, there are a number of activities that we participate in, sponsor or co-sponsor, and volunteer our time for; the links below will take you to some photo galleries. Mole Day Celebration and Cookout

Expanding Your Horizons Conference

The Expanding Your Horizons Conference is an event held each fall on the USA campus. Its goal is to get girls in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades "re-interested" in science, mathematics, and engineering. [more]
Car-Wash Fundraiser

One of the ways the USA ACS Student Affiliates raises money for its various projects – most notably, sending its members to ACS national meetings – is by having car-washes. [more]

Memorial for Dr. Young

One of the most beloved faculty members in the Department of Chemistry was Dr. Sidney Young , who passed away in 2004. In 2005, the ACS Student Affiliates, in coordination with the Chemistry Department, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and the SGA, held a memorial ceremony. [more]
