| Readmission
Processing - Effective November 1, 2004, the
processing of readmission applications is being
handled again in the Registrar's Office rather
than Admissions. |

Last
Day to Drop or Withdraw Changed -
Effective Fall 2004, the last day to drop or
withdraw will be the last day of classes
for the semester. This change will
allow students sufficient time to determine
whether they can successfully complete a course.

Deadline
for "I" and "X" Grades -
Effective Fall 2004, the deadline for faculty
reports on incomplete grades ("I"
or "X" grades) will be the same for
both undergraduate and graduate students. This
deadline is published in the University Calendar
that is found in the Schedule of Classes
and the Undergraduate and Graduate Bulletin. |

| AP
Credit Changes - Effective Spring 2005,
advanced placement (AP) credit will be awarded
only in English 101 for those students who score
4 or higher on the Advanced Placement Program
of the College Entrance Examination. This is
a change from the current policy which provided
for the awarding of 6 credits for both EH 101
and 102 with a score of 3 or higher. |

Online
Math Placement Exam - Effective Fall
2004, students must take the online Math Placement
Exam to determine their eligibility for a particular
math course. (ACT or SAT scores will no longer
be used for placement.) The two-hour timed exam
can be found at www.southalabama.edu/mathplacement.
Students should be encouraged to take this exam
at the earliest possible time (at least 48 hours)
prior to registration to allow time for the
scores to be added to the Banner student record
system. |

| International
Baccalaureate (IB) Credit
- Effective Summer 2004, credit for approved
USA courses will be granted to students with
a score of five (5) or higher on IB program
exams. Individual academic disciplines may require
a higher score in a particular course. |
