Status and Probation |
|
| To stay
in good academic standing with a Clear status,
a student must maintain a GPA of 2.00 or greater
on USA course work. In addition, a student must
earn a minimum cumulative USA GPA of 2.00 to graduate.
The College of Education requires a minimum of
2.20 and a 2.50 GPA for teacher certification. |
| |
| Students
with a cumulative GPA below 2.00 are having academic
difficulties and are alerted to this fact by being
placed on academic probation. Students on academic
probation are restricted to taking not more than
13 credit hours per term, unless exempted from
this regulation by the dean of their college.
Students with GPA's substantially below 2.00 are
subject to academic suspension or dismissal. See
the Suspension
and Dismissal table for the minimum GPA required
after the completion of a certain number of hours. |

Note:
Students no longer may have an Undetermined
academic status at the end of a semester. The
semester GPA is calculated on the grades assigned
to the completed courses, and the "I"
or "X" symbols remain until the deadline
in the middle of the next semester at which
time the student must have completed the course
work or taken the final exam.
