Academic Profile Test (General Education Assessment Test)

Implementation of Academic Profile testing at USA began Spring Semester 2002. All freshmen are now tested at Orientation and later as rising juniors (having completed 64 semester hours) to assist the University in evaluating the effectiveness of our General Education Core Curriculum.

This standardized test assesses the extent to which students have acquired the skills they are expected to acquire through the general education portion of their undergraduate college experience. These skills typically include college-level reading, writing, critical thinking, and mathematics.

Students will be scheduled to take this test at Orientation and in the semester immediately after they have achieved junior status. Students will be notified of the date and time of their test session. Results of the test will be kept in the individual student's permanent file, but do not appear on the academic transcript.
