Extracurricular
activities are encouraged to foster student-faculty
interaction, community involvement, and professional preparation.
The faculty is actively involved with the American
Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association
of Physician Assistant Programs. Several of the faculty
work clinically on a part-time basis bringing cutting-
edge health care issues to the classroom for discussion,
developing a sense of meaning and involvement for the
students regarding the health care delivery system.
The Alabama
Physician Assistant Student Society conducts fundraisers
to attend state and national meetings. Attendance at the
professional meetings further helps the students grow
and develop into well-rounded, professional Physician
Assistants.
