Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences

   
 

The undergraduate program readies the graduate to undertake professional study on the graduate level. Individuals interested in applying for the undergraduate program in Speech and Hearing Sciences can obtain an application and instructions through the University's Undergraduate Admissions website. Application deadlines are based on the semester the applicant intends to enter the university. The deadlines for each Semester of Entry are as follows: Fall (August) is June 15; Spring (January) is December 1; and Summer (June) is May 1.

 

 

 

Undergraduate students majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences must complete each SHS course with a grade of "C" or better. Undergraduate speech and hearing majors are expected to maintain an overall grade-point average acceptable for admission to a graduate program. Course requirements for the baccalaureate degree are outlined below.

Prior to enrolling in SHS courses at the 300- and 400-level, students must complete CLS 114, CLS 115, CIS 150 or CIS 110 or CIS 250, SHS 291, and at least one course each from the Aging, Multicultural, and Human Development areas. Students must have achieved an overall GPA of 2.5 in order to enroll in SHS 300- and 400-level courses.
