These interviews were given to the Oakland Chronicle and the San Francisco Examiner when Mr. and Mrs. John T. Cochrane were on their way to Honolulu and stopped in San Francisco for a day before sailing. In the party were Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Bestor (President of the First National Bank of Mobile, Ala.). In San Francisco the Cochranes met Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Kurn who were also going to Honolulu. Mr. J. M. Kurn was President of the Frisco Lines.
