Gallery
| This gallery shows
representative examples of images from 6 photographic collections belonging to The Doy
Leale McCall Rare Book and Manuscript Library. The Overbey collection dates from 1880 to
1958. Images in the McNeely collection were taken in the 1930s and 1940s. All of the
images in the Armitstead collection were taken in 1895. The ADDSCO Collection is strong
for the years of World War II. Finally, the photographs in the "Other Gallery"
are thematic, covering subjects like theaters, recreation, and Mardi Gras. We can make reproductions of all of our images. Consult our photo services page for more information. Please read this if you are thinking of downloading images from this site. Although it is impossible for us to
display all the negatives in these 6 collections, or the other photographic collections we
hold, we are happy to offer you this glimpse. Please see below for a link to ordering
information.
