Gallery
| This gallery shows 5 of the
Archives' photographic collections. Between them, these 5 collections have approximately
180,000 negatives. The Marx Collection contains some 10,000 architecturally-related
images, 6,000 of which have been digitized. They are available for viewing at our
repository. Overbey's collection is made up of about 100,000 negatives spanning the years
from about 1880 to 1958. The Armitstead collection has about 700 glass plate negatives,
all taken in 1895. The ADDSCO Collection is strong for the years of World War II and
contains about 60,000 negatives. Finally, the McNeely Collection has about 10,000
negatives. While it is impossible for us to display all the negatives in these 5
collections, or the other collections we hold, we are happy to offer you this glimpse.
Please see below for a link to ordering information. In addition to the images in this gallery, interested parties are
encouraged to check out both additional galleries provided
on this web site and the USA Archives' digital collection at AlabamaMosaic.
