Images from the Doris Rich Collection

This collection contains 286 black and white photographs and postcards illustrating south Baldwin County's early development. The Foley and Magnolia Springs areas are particularly well documented.

 

Wenzel's Store on Chicago Avenue in Foley. At one time, the upper rooms once contained a dance hall. Later, the Presbyterians used the second floor for services.

July Fourth celebration, Magnolia Springs, 1912 (49988 bytes)

Magnolia Springs, Alabama, July 4, 1912. The celebration included an oration; music, foot, boat, and swimming races; and a dance at the town hall.
