Biographical Sketch
The Consular Corps in Mobile was established around 1953 and was intended primarily as a social organization. The members of the Consular Corps during the mid 1950's to the early 1970's used their influence to encourage growth to the Port of Mobile. After the 1970's the Consular Corps reverted back to its original design as a social organization.

Scope and Content
The papers of the collection consist primarily of files relating to the annual receptions of the Consular Corps. These files contain such items as invitations, proposed guest lists, and RSVPs. Other files in the collection include those about membership lists, annual dues, and financial information. There are also several folders that contain news articles, photographs, and press releases. The invitations and RSVPs to the annual receptions were sent to and received from several prominent Mobile families.

Arrangement
The bulk of the collection is arranged in a chronologically although some are arranged by subject.
