Scholarship and contracted Advanced Course cadets normally serve a three or four year active duty (full time) service obligation followed by a reserve duty commitment rounding off the total time served to eight years. The eight year obligation may be satisfied with various combinations of active duty, active Reserve or National Guard service and inactive reserve status. If selected for active duty, the initial obligation is for three or four years if on scholarship. You may also request an educational delay prior to completing your degree requirements. Under the educational delay program, you may request law school, medical school, or other advance degree producing programs.
