All prerequisites must be passed with a minimum grade of "C".

ISC 190 Information Systems Special Topics 1 cr

Selected topics in information systems. Prerequisite: Permission of the ISC Coordinator.

ISC 305 Information Systems and Technology 3 cr

The analysis, design, and implementation of information systems. Analysis of the functional areas of business and integration of computer tools to satisfy information requirements. Current developments in business computer systems, including surveys of current systems and the Internet. Computer classrooms are utilized to provide students with "hands on" experience. Prerequisite: CIS 250.

ISC 350 Information Systems in Organizations 3 cr

Presents the relationships of general systems theory, software engineering, and technology with individual/organizational planning, organizational development, individual decision making, and people in an organization. Issues regarding data security and integrity, control of application access, audit-ability, project management, and individual and team behavior for team-oriented projects in organizations. Prerequisites: CA 275, ACC 212, MGT 300 and CIS 230.

ISC 353 Information Systems Applications Development 3 cr

The management of the development of a small system using E-R modeling and a phase-build approach. Interactive programming applications, database concepts, and report generation will also be covered. Prerequisite: ACC 212, and CIS 230.

ISC 360 Information Systems Analysis (W) 3 cr

A continuation of ISC 350 with emphasis on object-oriented analysis methodology. Prerequisite: Professional Component, CIS 321, CIS 322, and MGT 340.

ISC 361 Database for Information Systems 3 cr

Analysis, design, and implementation of more complex database systems. Prerequisite: Professional Component, CIS 324, ISC 350, and ISC 353.

ISC 362 Information Systems Design 3 cr

A continuation of ISC 360 with an emphasis on object-oriented design methodology. Prerequisites: ISC 360, and CIS 324.

ISC 457 Information Systems Decision Support 3 cr

An examination of the issues and activities associated with the design of information systems for decision making in organizations, including the use and integration of expert systems in the organization planning and review process. Prerequisites: CIS 324 and ISC 360.

ISC 459 Advanced Network Design and Development 3 cr

Network analysis, planning, design, and configuration to support intranet/Internet access strategies. Prerequisite: Professional Component and CIS 324.

ISC 463 Information Systems Database Administration & Security 3 cr

An examination of the issues and activities associated with the administrator function for databases. This course will cover installation, implementation, user management, backup, and security. Prerequisites: CIS 324.

ISC 490 Information System Special Topics 3 cr

Advanced selected topics in information systems. Prerequisite: Permission of the ISC Coordinator.

ISC 551 Human/Computer Interface Design 3 cr

An examination of modern interface design conventions (GUI) and their underlying event-driven functionality. Issues related to the design and maintenance of user-oriented supporting materials such as context sensitive help, online documentation, and tutorials will also be examined. Prerequisite: CIS Graduate Foundation Courses or equivalent.

ISC 553 Information Systems Website Management 3 cr

Concepts of web site development and management: home-page, intranet, and Internet. Web programming and database access. Prerequisite: CIS 501, CIS 504 or equivalent and permission of the ISC Coordinator. 

ISC 557 Modeling and Decision Support Systems 3 cr

Multi-criteria decision making techniques, group decision making process, database query for decision support, inference engines, and expert system architectures. Prerequisite: CIS Graduate Foundation Courses or equivalent

ISC 559 Information Systems Advanced Networks and Communications 3 cr

Analysis and design of information systems infrastructures to support multiple locations, intranet/Internet access, corporate privacy, and security. Capacity analysis and planning, installation, performance monitoring, and problem solving strategies. Prerequisite: CIS Graduate Foundation Courses or equivalent.

ISC 560 Information Systems Analysis 3 cr

Information analysis and logical specifications of an application system. Iterative strategies for development of information system applications. Development life cycle as a basis for managing and controlling systems development. System administration strategies, the impact of distributed processing, open systems, dynamic linking, etc. on data integrity, data security, and system reliability. Development of requirements, needs identification, audit and control, and feasibility analysis. Prerequisite: CIS Graduate Foundation Courses or equivalent.

ISC 561 Information Systems Database Management 3 cr

An introduction to database management systems. The data environment, basic technical concepts and systems resources, database concepts, including use and management of databases. Classical and current DBMS models will be presented. Laboratory project activity will involve definition, creation, and development of a database. Prerequisite: CIS Graduate Foundation Courses or equivalent.

ISC 562 Information Systems Design 3 cr

Integration of high-level systems technology, systems analysis and design, organizational behavior towards development of large-scale applications/decision systems. System administration strategies, security vs. performance tradeoffs, and hardware vs. software solutions. Application design to support transaction rollback and recovery, audit trails, incremental backup. Use of state-of-the-art specification systems and applications generators. Software engineering and a rigorous approach to information systems design and specification. Prerequisites: ISC 561 and 560.

ISC 563 Information Systems Database Administration 3 cr

An examination of the issues and activities associated with the administrator function for organizational databases. This course will cover user access, authorization, security, and privacy for organizational databases, as well as user management, backup, and security. Prerequisite: CIS Graduate Foundation Courses or equivalent.

ISC 571 Information Systems Data Warehousing and Decision Support 3 cr

This course examines the analysis and design issues as well as architectural infrastructures associated with enterprise data warehouses for decision support. Prerequisite: ISC 561 and ISC 563.

ISC 590 Information Systems Special Topics 3 cr

Advanced selected topics in information systems. Prerequisite: Permission of the ISC Coordinator.
