Educational Foundations
Educational Foundations courses are designed to help
students throughout the College of Education develop a critical perspective on the
relationship between school and society. Students use a variety of academic disciplines to
study the problems of education. Foundations courses focus on teachers, their occupation
as educational reform has affected it, and students as contemporary social forces have
shaped them. The influences of social class, race, ethnicity, and gender take center stage
in every course. Although there are no degree or certification programs in Educational
Foundations, these courses support undergraduate and graduate programs throughout the
College.
