This course covers algebra topics needed for further study in mathematics including use of set, interval, roster and scientific notation; solving and graphing: linear equations, inequalities, absolute value, quadratic, rational and radical equations; operations on functions, rational expressions, radical expressions, polynomials and complex numbers; and applications. Prerequisite: Appropriate score on the Mathematics Placement Exam. For freshmen with conditional admission, appropriate score on the Mathematics Placement Exam or successful completion of DS 082.
