Description: CPR/AED training includes recognizing and caring for breathing and cardiac emergency responses for adults, infants, and children. Valid for two years.
Part 1: Complete the online portion by clicking here. Cost is $27, payable by credit card. You must enroll by Thursday, May 30th.
Part 2: Demonstrate skills on Friday, May 31st from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center classroom. Cost is $10, cash or check payable to “USA”.

Date and Time: Registration forms and schedules will be available the first day of class Spring Semester of each year. You must attend all classes to become certified.
Space is limited to 15 participants so register early. To register, visit the SRC front desk or pool deck and pick up a registration packet. Registration forms are also available online. Turn in forms and fees to the front desk.
Cost: $150.00 Student Recreation Center members/$185.00 all others. Cash or checks only (checks preferred, please make payable to USA).
Location: Student Recreation Center Meeting Room
Description: Course provides entry level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies and provide care until emergency medical services arrive and take over. You must pass a pretest and be at least 15 years old to take the course.
Lifeguarding course prerequisite skills:
- Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
- Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
- Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 second.
- Starting in water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of water. Swim goggles are not allowed.
- Surface dive, feet-first or head-first to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Candidates can not swim underwater.

(make a $300 check payable to Underwater Works Inc., and a $50.00 check made payable to USA)
$40 – Instructor fee per day for Open Water dives
$21 – Park entrance fee per day for Open Water dives
Location: Student Recreation Center Meeting Room and Leisure Pool Deep Water Diving Well
Requirements: You will need to have professional scuba gear: a mask , fins, snorkel, boots, and weight/weight belt. This can be purchased the first night of class at Underwater Works Inc. (All gear not purchased at Underwater Works Inc. must be approved by instructor before the first class).
