Daniel
W. Surry is Assistant Professor of Instructional Design &
Development at the University of South Alabama. Prior to coming to
USA in 1999, he taught at The University of Southern Mississippi and the
University of Alabama. From 1993-1995 he was Instructional Technologist
/ Adjunct Assistant Professor at California State University, Fresno.
He earned a Doctor of Education degree in Instructional Technology from
The University of Georgia in 1993. Dan was one of the first people
to receive a Master's Degree in Instructional Design from the University
of South Alabama. From 1984 - 1988, he served in the U.S. Army, Military
Intelligence Corps as an Electronic Warfare Operator / Czech Linguist.
His research and consulting interests focus on the implementation of innovations,
instructional technology in higher education, and performance technology.
Dan and his wife Melinda, Assistant Principal at a local elementary school,
reside in the Dog River area of Mobile and are the proud parents of two
beagles - Jimi and Duane.
