Biography

Diane Gibbs has been teaching at the University of South Alabama since 2003. She has been a designer for over 20 years and runs her own freelance design firm, Little Bird Communications, which she established in 2002. She loves bringing the business perspective into the classroom. Diane received her BFA from Auburn University, then worked as a designer in Denver before continuing her design education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she earned her MFA. To keep herself inspired, Diane started a weekly podcast called Design Recharge in May of 2012 interviewing designers, illustrators, and industry leaders. She also serves as the secretary and is a founding member of AIGA’s Mobile chapter.
