JagMedia unites the University of South Alabama's student media groups into a collaborative effort to produce the most comprehensive news and entertainment coverage across the USA community. JagMedia partners include Due South magazine, JagTV television, The Prowl radio and The Vanguard newspaper.
Due South is the first student-run lifestyles magazine for the University of South Alabama campus. Features include music, culture, the arts, literature, drama and more. The magazine is a subsidiary publication of The Vanguard newspaper.
JagTV is a volunteer TV station and studio run entirely by students. It broadcasts on channel 61.1 on the USA cable system available throughout the dorms and common places on campus. JagTV can also be watched free on-demand through the channel's website.
97.1 The Prowl is the student-run radio station featuring music and student-produced programming. 97.1 The Prowl is available on 97.1 FM, The Buzz: Univ. of South Alabama app and online through our website. We welcome currently-enrolled students in every major to participate on and off the air in programming, promotions, news, production and marketing.
The Vanguard is the official student newspaper of the University of South Alabama, serving the University's student, staff, faculty and campus community since 1965. It is published and distributed on Mondays during the regular academic year. One of the largest circulation weeklies in southern Alabama, The Vanguard is a student-produced newspaper, designed to provide a learning environment as well as to inform the public of campus news and issues. The Vanguard is now available on The Buzz: Univ. of South Alabama.
