Gary graduated from South in 1992 with a B.A. in Psychology/Statistics minor. Gary has 24 years of experience in senior level hospitality management including human resources management and operational leadership roles in casino operations, resort and hotel operations, retail, golf operations, security and risk management, and entertainment/recreation facilities.  He is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a doctorate in Human Capital Development.  He currently serves as the Corporate Director of Human Resources for Majestic Star Casino, LLC and serves as an adjunct instructor for the University of Southern Mississippi and The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and an adjunct member of the graduate faculty for the Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality at The University of Memphis.  He resides in Southaven, Mississippi with his wife, Wendy and his two children, Caroline and Matthew.

Warren L. Greene

Warren Greene is the Assistant Administrator for Support Services at USA Health System where he has worked in various leadership roles over the past 17 years. Since 2012, Warren has led the efforts to improve patient experience at University Hospital.  Compared to other academic medical centers, University Hospital has improved from a ranking of 29 to 5. Warren has worked in healthcare for over 27 years in human resources, management engineering, operations and administration. He is a 1982 graduate of Williamson High School. He graduated from the University of South Alabama in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations and Systems Management. He is a Past President of the USA National Alumni Association. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1983-1988. He is active in the community serving on various boards and committees. Warren is married to Vernetta Greene and they have four children and two grandchildren. He is a member and officer at Revelation Missionary Baptist Church.

Dione Heusel

Dione Heusel serves as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for HRI Properties, LLC, a national real estate development firm with lines of business including Hotel Management and Residential Property Management.  Dione has an extensive background in Human Resources and Learning and Development and has held senior leadership positions in the Hospitality industry; the Food and Beverage industry working for brands including Smoothie King Franchises, Inc. Ruth’s Chris, Inc., and Ruby Tuesday, Inc.; the Retail industry (Saks Fifth Avenue); and the Oil & Gas industry (DM Petroleum Operations, Inc., a contractor to the Department of Energy).   

Dione knows first-hand the challenges of taking a company public and those brought about by virtue of being publicly traded.  She also understands the complexity of the HR function in a highly regulated government environment. 

Dione’s experience in aligning HR strategy to business strategy, establishing and refining systems and processes, developing and deploying talent solutions, and building and promoting a strong corporate culture which includes a passion for service, are keys to her success. 

Dione has also served on various local and national boards, including, most recently, the Women’s Leadership Council, United Way of Southeast Louisiana. 

Dione is a proud graduate of the University of South Alabama and a native of Mobile, Alabama, but has resided in the New Orleans area with her family since 1998.

Dr. Patti Phillips is president and CEO of ROI Institute, Inc., the leading source of ROI competency building, implementation support, networking, and research. She helps organizations implement the ROI Methodology in over 60 countries. Patti serves as Principal Research Fellow for The Conference Board, People Analytics Board Chair for the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), board member of the Center for Talent Reporting, and ATD CPLP Certification Institute Fellow. Patti also serves on the faculty of the UN System Staff College in Turin, Italy, and The University of Southern Mississippi’s PhD in Human Capital Development program. Her work has been featured on CNBC, EuroNews, and over a dozen business journals.

She, along with her husband Jack Phillips, contributes to a variety of journals and has authored many books about measurement and evaluation, ROI, and human capital analytics.
