Passage USA receives ARC Maury Friedlander award

The Maury Friedlander Award honors the life and service of Maury Friedlander. Maury was a longtime member and past president of the Board of the Mobile Arc. He dedicated many countless hours of free legal advice to the Mobile disability community including the Mobile Arc.

This year, we honor Passage USA. PASSAGE USA is a program at the University of South Alabama that prepares all students socially and academically for Gainful Employment. It is a post-secondary education program for students diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. Passage USA helps students define their goals into an Individualized Adult Education Plan. These skills include independent living, social, employment, and self-determination skills. Accepting the award today is Dr. Abigail Baxter, the Project Director and Co-Principal Investigator.
