Arts in Education

The University of South Alabama Department of Music provides many services to Mobile, Clarke, Escambia, Washington and Baldwin counties, including professional development for teachers. The Department is pleased to offer Arts in Education, a professional development program designed to train elementary and middle school classroom teachers how to integrate the arts into the classroom. Participants discover how to enhance English, math, science, social studies and other core courses with music, theatre, visual arts, and dance. Arts in Education is funded by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE), No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation and the University of South Alabama. Participants receive up to 40 teacher inservice (FLEX) hours as well as over $200 in FREE classroom materials. Space is limited to 75 participants.

Arts in Education

For our FINAL year of the Arts in Education program, we're offering a Lower Elementary (K-2) Teacher program and an Upper Elementary (3-5) Teacher program.
