USA Opera and Musical Theatre

USA Opera Theatre, under the direction of Thomas L. Rowell, will present a Gala Concert of music from Opera and Musical Theatre with guest artists who are alumni of USA Opera Theatre, along with USA Music Faculty. The event will take place on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. and will be repeated on Sunday, November 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital.

Appearing on the Gala Concert will be USA faculty Linda Zoghby and Joyce Sylvester, and alumni of USA Opera Theatre from the past ten years under Rowell's direction, including Andre Chiang and Emily Eubanks Chiang, Lee Smith, Richard Sawyer, Jessica Head, Katie Bandy, Brent Nowell, Tjaden O'Dowd Cox, Michael Devery, and Carly York Fulmer.

Music will include operatic selections from Verdi's Falstaff and Nabucco, Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and Cosi fan tutte, Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Bernstein's Candide and musical theatre selections from Chicago, The Most Happy Fella, Oliver, Children of Eden, and The Last Five Years.

Tickets for these Musical Arts Series events will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only). (Pass Holders only please! Held seats not claimed within 20 minutes of the performance may be offered to other concert attendees.)
