The University of South Alabama Department of Music will present a faculty oboe recital
featuring Dr. Rebecca Mindock, Dr. Thomas Rowell, and Dr. Doreen Lee on Tuesday, September
18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The program, entitled
"Songs of Innocence and Experience," will feature works that celebrate the phases
of life, including new works by Alyssa Morris and Theresa Martin for oboe and piano
that celebrate children, Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Blake Songs" for tenor and oboe
based on William Blake's "Songs of Innocence and Experience," and Eric Ewazen's oboe
concerto, "Down a River of Time," arranged for oboe and piano.
Tickets for this Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission
is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all
senior citizens (cash or check only). Musical Arts Series season passes will of course
be honored for admission to this event. Persons needing more information about this
