CLINICAL
TRIALS
Studies
on new therapies are currently underway in stroke, multiple sclerosis,
Parkinson's Disease and epilepsy. These studies may help establish the
effectiveness of new therapies or help identify better treatments for
neurologic diseases. If you are a patient interested in

STUDIES
CURRENTLY ENROLLING PARTICIPANTS
Epilepsy
1. Antiepileptic drug study for children with
epilepsy
Antiepileptic
drug study in children to measure the safety, tolerability and
pharmacokinetics of an oral seizure medication in pediatric patients 1
month through 16 years of age with partial onset seizures.
2. New
antiepileptic drug for uncontrolled epilepsy
Antiepileptic
drug study for patients aged 16 to 70 years with partial onset seizures
not well controlled by current antiepileptic drugs.
3. New
antiepileptic drug formulation for children with epilepsy
Antiepileptic
drug study in children 12 to 16 years old and adults 18 to 55 years old
with epilepsy to evaluate a new formulation of an epileptic medication
for safety and tolerability.
Stroke
1. Stroke
prevention study (NIH)
Stroke
prevention study to define effective therapies for prevention of stroke
recurrence in small strokes. Potential candidates are patients 30 years
of age and older with a diagnosis of stroke within the past 6 months.
2. Reduction of
insulin resistance in stroke prevention (NIH)
Stroke
prevention study to test the effectiveness of an agent that reduces
insulin resistance, for reducing the risk for stroke or MI among
patients with a recent stroke or TIA and insulin resistance. Potential
candidates are patients 45 years or greater with ischemic stroke or TIA
within 6 months. |
