Comrades Of Courage Services
Defense and Intersession - Speaker - Member Recognition
Intercession with Faculty or Administration
Are you having an issue in the classroom or on the campus that you feel is simply so overwhelming you need help? We can help you by interceding on your behalf with faculty and administration members to come to an equitable resolution.
The purpose of this service is to level the playing field for all students at South Alabama. You may have been told you cannot drop a class after a serious injury or may have been informed you cannot participate in a particular class due to your disability.
You may have been denied your rights of extended test times, special aids in the classroom (such as a recorder) or even more serious violations of Section 504 Regulation of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act. We stand ready to help you resolve these situations.
We often work hand in hand with the Office of Special Student Services to resolve the problem. If you believe you have a problem which requires this service please fill out the form at the bottom of the page and we will contact you as soon as possible.
Need a Speaker?
Often we are asked to speak to various groups and classes about diversity and disability. It is a free service we offer, but it is based strictly on the availability of one of our speakers. We are happy to discuss the dire need of community and campus involvement in the ongoing issues at South Alabama as well as the surrounding community. If you are interested in this service you may go to our Request a Speaker Page and let us know when you need a speaker and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Member Recognition
Do you know of a member in Comrades of Courage that deserves recognition? Please tell us about this member and why you think they are deserving of this recognition. Whether the recognition is for community service, artistic work, writing, scholastic achievement, or just because they are a great human being we want to hear about it! Once a month two members will be chosen for their achievements and showcased on our Student Spotlight page. Please Contact Us with your recommendations.
