Banner General Navigation class

This course will introduce you to the Banner interface and functions. You will learn the Banner naming conventions for forms, tables, jobs, and reports; proper navigation techniques, setting search parameters in queries, and editing information in the forms. This is a hands-on training in general navigation through Banner 7.4. Pre-requisites: Supervisor approval.

This course will introduce you to the Banner Reports interface and options. You will learn to set up report parameters, save parameter sets, run, preview, save, print, and electronically distribute Banner reports. This is a hands-on training in Banner 7.4. Pre-requisites: Banner General Navigation class.


Mail Merge in Word 2007
Tuesday, Jan 26, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, Jan 28, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

This course is exploring Microsoft Word's Mail Merge function.  You will learn to create a merge document (usually form letter) and "merge" it with your data source document (mailing list) to create individualized output.  Come and learn techniques that will help you handle your mass mailings more easily and save you lots of time and frustration.  Pre-requisites:  working knowledge of Word 2007 and/or Excel 2007.

Computers with internet access have become an essential part of our everyday life -- things like listening to music, checking e-mail, and sharing pictures are routine daily activities. However, internet access also opens the door to security and safety dangers. Learn how to protect yourself from viruses, spam, and other online “monsters.”


Introduction to Excel  2007 (Part I)
Tuesday, Feb 9, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, Feb 11, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

This course will provide an overview of the Excel 2007 interface and the fundamentals of manipulating worksheets and workbooks. Learn the basic skills necessary to create spreadsheets, including entering, editing, and formatting data and formulas. Learn how to navigate and view multiple worksheets and to access the on-line help while working with Excel 2007.


Formulae and Functions in Excel (Part II)
Tuesday, March 2, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 4, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

This intermediate course will focus on working with formulas and functions in Excel.  Learn to use Relative, Absolute, and Mixed References and 3-D addresses.  Explore most common functions like AutoSum, CountIF, and LookUp. Learn to create and edit Charts. Learn more about Styles, Page Breaks and Print options.  Pre-requisites:  working knowledge of Excel 2007 or having attended “Introduction to Excel 2007 (Part I)” class.


If-Analysis and LookUp functions in Excel 2007 (Part III)
Tuesday, March 9, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 11, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

This course will focus on “nested” If-analysis and working with LookUp functions. We will also explore some statistical and text functions like CountA, CountIF, Clean, Trim, and Concatenate. We will look at several options for conditional formatting of your data. And finally, we will review various options for electronic distribution of your Excel files. Pre-requisites: intermediate level of Excel 2007 knowledge or having attended “Formulae & Functions in Excel 2007 (Part II)” class. 


Charts in Excel 2007 (Part IV)
Tuesday, April 6, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 8, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

This class will introduce easy ways to create and edit Charts in Excel 2007. You will learn to plan, design, and format worksheets and charts, apply Styles and Themes, rotate text and work with number format symbols. We will look at ways to edit and customize your bar and pie charts and map two sets of data with two different value axes. Pre-requisites: working knowledge of Excel 2007 or having attended “Introduction to Excel 2007” class. 


Introduction to MS PowerPoint 2007
Tuesday, April 27, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 29, 8:30 p.m. – 11:30 a.m.

This course teaches the new Office 2007 interface and the basics of inserting text, graphics and sounds into your slide show. Learn how to create a flexible slide show with action buttons for navigation within your slide presentation and hyperlinks to other files and Web resources. You will also learn how to spice up your show with transition effects and animation. Pre-requisites: working knowledge of Word 2007.

Thursday, May6, 8:30 p.m. – 11:30 a.m.

PDF files are among the most commonly posted and distributed file types.  Learn to navigate and create electronic documents which are ready for distribution – for review, collaboration, or basic communication. Pre-requisites: working knowledge of Word 2007
