Pete McCarty has been the manager of the Coastal Weather Research
Center since it began operation in January 1988. Mr McCarty
is responsible for maintaining the uninterrupted flow of data
to and from the Weather Center. Over the years he has helped
organize the services and computer products that are provided
by the Center and its Computerized Weather Information Service.
Mr. McCarty shares in the briefing of clients and in the preparation
of forecasts and has become a familiar voice to many Gulf Coast
businesses and industries.
In addition to his regular duties at the Center, Mr. McCarty
assists in the preparation of the Mobile Weather and Marine
Almanac and has helped train many meterology students in the
mechanics of operating a weather service.
