Moulton Tower and Alumni Plaza Dedicated

More than 2,500 people gathered the evening of Oct. 8 for the dedication of the new Moulton Tower and Alumni Plaza on the University of South Alabama’s main campus. The Gordon and Geri Moulton Bell Tower is named in honor of the University’s president and his wife for their four decades of “exceptional service to the University of South Alabama and the Mobile community” by unanimous resolution of the USA Board of Trustees. The tower and plaza dedication culminated a longtime dream of the University’s alumni for an iconic landmark and symbol for USA. Fireworks illuminated the 140-foot brick and stone clock tower as the tolling of its four bronze bells and the notes of the electronic carillon ended the program. Afterward, guests enjoyed the first dinner event to be held in the plaza.
