$1 Million Estate Gift Received From Mrs. Margarette G. Griffin

USA’s pediatric cancer research team at Children’s & Women’s Hospital will benefit from the generosity of the late Margarette Griffin who directed nearly $1 million of her estate towards the goal of combating and eliminating childhood cancer. Mrs. Griffin’s dream was to “see the University’s children’s cancer program become a national leader in discovering and implementing new and better ways to detect, treat, and cure children who become afflicted with this terrible disease.” While Mr. and Mrs. Griffin did not have children of
their own, both supported many efforts geared towards improving children’s lives throughout their lifetimes. The establishment of the Margarette G. Griffin Pediatric Cancer Research Endowment Fund was one of Mrs. Griffin’s final gifts and will forever support treatment and care for the many young patients throughout the Gulf Coast area who are served by our hospital.
