The purpose of the University of South Alabama Annual Fund is to encourage annual gifts to the University from alumni and friends. These funds are used to enhance programs in each of our colleges and schools. The Blend Offers USA Students a
Chance to Shine Support for the South Alabama Annual Fund promotes opportunities to challenge students and faculty to gain real-world, professional experience beyond the class room. These opportunities prepare them to face challenges in their future.
USA College of Nursing student Mike Martin is pursing his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. He said it was a freak accident aboard his U.S. Coast Guard ship in the early 90s that nearly took his friend's life and led him into the nursing profession. Martin had no medical experience at the time, but when his friend was injured, he stepped in and helped save the shipmate's life and realized his own career path. Remembering USA with John Gibson
When John Gibson, Class of '71, looks back at his days at South, he remembers going downtown to cheer on the Jaguar basketball team with his Sigma Nu brothers in the Mobile Municipal Auditorium (now called the Mobile Civic Center). He says that he can even tell you a few stories, now that the statute of limitations has passed. |
