We are currently enhancing our coastal research capabilities through the development of observational, modeling, and monitoring resources. In addition to fabricating the JagSki for coastal data collection and shoreline monitoring, we are in the process of developing high performance computing (HPC) resources. These HPC resources are likely to include a 64 compute core cluster for performing parallel computing and forecasting of coastal circulation, nearshore waves, and storm surge along the Northern Gulf Coast. These efforts are made possible by a number of federal grants issued to the Coastal Transportation Engineering Research and Education Center (CTEREC). Additionally, the CTEREC utilizes a small 20 x 20 x 3 ft wave basin for demonstrations, education, and some limited research. |
