Dr.
Jan Gou joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering
at the University of South Alabama as assistant professor
in 2002. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering
from Florida State University in 2002. He received his first
Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University
in 1999.
His current
research interests include carbon nanopaper sheet manufacturing,
nanocomposites and nanomanufacturing, computational nanotechnology,
polymer composites manufacturing, process modeling and optimization,
composites structural design and optimization, advanced materials
processing, solid mechanics, and computer aided engineering:
CAD/CAM/FEA. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses
in the broad areas of materials, manufacturing and mechanics,
including Materials Science, Engineering Mechanics (Statics,
Dynamics, and Mechanics of Materials), Introduction to Composite
Materials, Mechanics of Composite Materials, and Computer
Aided Design and Manufacturing.
