The Society of Women Engineers, (SWE) founded in 1950, is the largest non-profit educational and service organization representing both student and professional women in engineering and related fields.

Mission Statement:

"The Society of Women Engineers stimulates women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expands the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrates the value of diversity."

SWE engages in four key issues: Leadership, Education, Diversity, and Networking. SWE provides a sense of fellowship to all members a chance to exchange ideas and opinions regarding women in the engineering field. SWE also supports and awards over forty different scholarships a year.
