Dr. Douglas Haywick, an associate professor in USA's department of Earth sciences, trains Mobile County Public School System middle-school teachers to use specially designed rock and sediment kits in their classrooms. The "Alabama Rocks!" project is designed to help public school middle- and high-school teachers and students appreciate Earth sciences.
JagTran drivers celebrate a safe academic year and prepare for the start of the fall semester at the Transportation Barn on campus. The USA campus transportation system had a record 341,969 passengers. The crew drove 103,559 miles in 18,205 hours of driving time. This fall, JagTran added the new yellow line to focus on routes between the Student Center and University Commons, with a stop at the Mitchell College of Business.
