Minimum Wage Increase Takes Effect July 24, 2007

The federal minimum wage will increase to $ 5.85 an hour on July 24, the first step in its three-phase climb to $7.25 on July 24, 2009. The three-phase climb is as follows:

Federal Minimum Wage as of July 24, 2007: $ 5.85 an hour
Increase scheduled for July 24, 2008: $ 6.55 an hour
Increase scheduled for July 24, 2009: $ 7.25 an hour
