HONORS PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS   ACT Composite Minimum Grade-point Average Amount Per Year Total Amount 33 - 36 3.5 $10,000 $40,000 32 3.5 $9,000 $36,000 30-31 3.5 $7,000 $28,000 27-29 3.5 $5,000 $20,000   The University of South Alabama Honors Program offers a curriculum of interdisciplinary excellence designed to stimulate analytical and critical thinking of exceptionally qualified and highly motivated students. In this effort, the USA Honors Program challenges students with scholarly activities and creative activities, exposes them to cultural enrichment and requires them to engage in community service. Students selected for the USA Honors Program are considered for Honors Program Scholarships as follows.   To be considered for the USA Honors Program and Honors Program Scholarships, students must: • Apply for admission to the University of South Alabama, • Request official ACT or SAT scores be mailed to the USA Office of Admissions, • Request an official high school transcript be mailed to the Office of Admissions (transcript must show grades through the junior year and be mailed directly from the school), • Complete the separate Honors Program Application, and • Complete the above procedures by December 15 for first consideration. • Acceptance of Honors Program Scholarship will void previously awarded Presidential Scholarship.   Please note: Because the Honors Program is extremely competitive, interested students are encouraged to follow the application procedures (note the December 1 deadline) for the Presidential Scholarship shown here. This will make you eligible for consideration for these scholarships which have an early deadline of December 1. If you are awarded a Presidential Scholarship and subsequently are accepted to the Honors Program and receive and Honors Scholarship, then your previously awarded USA scholarship will be voided.
