In discussions on May 17, 2000 with Faculty Senate chair Dr. Dan Rogers, Senior Vice-President Dr. Pat Covey
1. restated her eagerness to meet monthly with representatives of the Faculty Senate.
2. agreed to help the Senate with its clerical needs by requesting priority for a work-study student (although the ad hoc committee's proposal had actually been for an enhanced level of clerical support through a secretary in the Office of Academic Affairs).
In its meeting with President Moulton on June 13, 2000, the Senate Executive Committee reached an understanding with him that
3. Mr. Moulton will recommend to the Board of Trustees improved Faculty Senate participation in Trustee Committee meetings (Budget, Academic & Student Affairs, Planning)
4. Mr. Moulton will begin a policy of specifically introducing the Senate chair to the Board of Trustees at each meeting of the full board, indicating the Senate chairperson's willingness to serve as a resource for academic issues and other faculty concerns
5. Mr. Moulton will continue to consult closely with the Senate chair when naming faculty members to University-wide committees
In a memo of June 2, 2000, Dr. Covey
6. informed the Senate that all Deans had agreed to begin meeting regularly with their colleges' senators
