DNA Analysis

Y Chromosome Detection (Azoospermia, Oligospermia, Ambiguous Genitalia): Determination of the presence of Y chromosome DNA (also permits the identification of the specific region of Y that is present).

Specimen Requirements: 3 cc whole blood in a purple top tube (EDTA) or 10 cc amniotic fluid in sterile plastic conical tube. Refrigerate specimen until shipment.

Turn Around Time: 5-7 days
Factor V Leiden Study: For testing persons at "high-risk" for venus thromboembolism.

Specimen Requirements:10 cc whole blood in a purple top tube (EDTA).Refrigerate specimen until shipment.

Turn Around Time: 5-14 days
Sickle Cell Study: Determination of affected or carrier status of patients, relatives of patients, or at risk fetus.

Specimen Requirements:10 cc amniotic fluid in sterile plastic conical tube or 10 cc whole blood in a purple top tube (EDTA). Refrigerate specimen until shipment.

Turn Around Time: 5-14 days
DNA Isolation: Isolation of DNA from blood, amniotic fluid, skin, or autopsy material.

Specimen Requirements: Please call for instructions before sending specimens.

Turn Around Time: 3 days
