USA CHILDREN'S PARK RECEIVES TREE PRESERVATION AWARD
Tree Commission Award 300
Veronica Gonner, assistant administrator at USA Children's and Women's Hospital, accepts the Tree Preservation Award for USA Children's Park from Mayor Mike Dow and Tommy McGehee, tree commission chairman.
The University of South Alabama Children's Park has been presented the Tree Preservation Award from the Mobile Tree Commission. The award was made at the Oct. 14 meeting of the Mobile City Council.

USA Children's Park was recognized for extraordinary landscape design and tree preservation. "The University
had the foresight to incorporate large trees in their landscape design and also set aside a large parcel of land for public use," said Tommy McGehee, chairman of the Mobile Tree Commission. McGehee presented the award to Veronica Gonner, assistant administrator at USA Children's and Women's Hospital.

USA Children's Park serves as the entrance to USA Children's and Women's Hospital, and in addition to its
many magnificent trees is also home to more than 40 life-size bronze sculptures relating to children. The park is located on Springhill Avenue between Louiselle and Catherine streets in midtown Mobile, and is open to the public for self-guided tours.
