MOBILE– The 6th Annual Children's Miracle Network Radiothon supporting University of South Alabama Children's & Women's Hospital raised more than $80,000 in pledges during the November 22-24 broadcast on Lite Mix 99.9 FM. The pledges represent a 33 percent increase over last year’s pledges.
"The impact that USA Children's & Women's Hospital is having on the Gulf Coast is remarkable and growing," Dr. Joseph Busta, vice president for development and alumni relations at the University of South Alabama, said. "So many lives have been touched that our community is responding with record levels of support, and we want to say thank you to everyone."
During the Radiothon, children, families, doctors, staff and volunteers shared compelling testimonials about their experiences at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital as they were interviewed by Lite Mix personalities.
Listeners had the opportunity to call in pledges to help purchase medical equipment, support research, and provide programs and services for children treated at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital.
