Jie Li, librarian at the University of South Alabama Charles M. Baugh Biomedical Library, has been selected as the Southern Chapter/Medical Library Association Academic Medical Librarian of the Year.

“Jie’s honor speaks well of the individual as well as the institution. It demonstrates your librarian’s commitment to the profession and illustrates that her peers recognize her expertise. Neither would have been possible without institutional support,” said J. Michael Lindsay from the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association.

Li has additionally been nominated for the national award. In 2002 another USA librarian, Judy Burham, received the award for the Southern Chapter and went on to win the National Academic Medical Librarian of the Year award.
