Dr. Michael Linder
According to the National SAFE KIDS Campaign and the American Academy of Pediatrics, in the United States, about 30 million children and teens participate in some form of organized sports. Approximately 3 million injuries occur each year and almost one-third of all injuries incurred in childhood are sports-related injuries. By far, the most common injuries are sprains and strains. Interestingly, most organized sports-related injuries (60 percent) occur during practice. More severe injuries occur during individual sports and recreational activities. Examples of sports and recreational activities that incur most injuries include: basketball, baseball and softball, bicycling, football, gymnastics, skating (ice, inline and roller skating), skateboarding, sledding, snow skiing and soccer.
The lecture and lunch is provided free of charge. Reservations are required. For more information regarding the lecture or to make reservations, please call 460-7770 or email
