Ashley W. Turbeville recently joined the University of South Alabama College of Medicine as the director of health system grants administration and development.

"I am excited to be working with all of the faculty and staff in the College of Medicine and the Mitchell Cancer Institute,” said Turbeville. “I look forward to helping them in all phases of their research endeavors."

The primary goal for this position is to increase and enhance research activities within the USA College of Medicine and Mitchell Cancer Institute. Turbeville will interact with administrators, principal investigators, and funding agencies.  In this role, she will act as an advisor concerning issues requiring further internal review and ensure compliance with College of Medicine, university, and agency guidelines. She is also responsible for the pre-award review process and post-award technical support for grants administration including any technology transfer opportunities.

Turbeville has been employed by the university for a number of years. She began her career in radiology administration, then working in cell biology and in the office of sponsored programs. Most recently, she served as associate director of grants administration. Turbeville completed her undergraduate degree and her Master’s in Business Administration at USA.
