Clinical Trial Evaluating Novel Technology Developed by USA Scientists Now Recruiting Patients

A new clinical trial evaluating the use of immunotherapy in the treatment of breast cancer is now open in Mobile.  The FDA-monitored trial, initiated by the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and VRI, Inc, a California investment group, is now enrolling volunteer patients interested in participating.

The study will evaluate the use of an immunotherapy approach to cancer treatment discovered by scientists at the USA College of Medicine.  This study will focus specifically on using immunotherapy in the treatment of disseminated, malignant breast carcinomas that have not responded to available standard therapies.

Volunteer patients whose breast cancers have not responded to conventional surgery, radiation and /or chemotherapy are eligible to participate.

The research that led to the immunotherapeutic “vaccine” technology that is being studied in this trial was developed by scientists in the department of microbiology and immunology at USA.  Their research was funded during the past 20 years by both the National Institute of Health and the National Cancer Institute.

For more information about enrolling in this study, call (251) 433-9899. For additional details, click here.
