USA Medical Center Administrator Receives "Excellence in Nursing" Leadership Award

MOBILE – The administrator of the University of South Alabama Medical Center has been recognized by the Zeta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing, for her contributions to nursing excellence.

USAMC Administrator Beth Anderson recently received the organization’s Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award.

Anderson was cited for her role in bringing the Transforming Care at the Bedside nationwide nursing initiative to the Medical Center and for encouraging greater collaboration with the USA College of Nursing through the USA Medical Center’s Clinical Nurse Leader program.

One colleague called her an excellent role model.  “She is generous with her time, expertise and talents.  She is hardworking, dedicated and committed to quality patient care.  She is forward thinking and promotes others around her striving to be their best.”

Sigma Theta Tau awards for excellence in nursing leadership are based on the following criteria:

  • Influences leadership in nursing through visionary and innovative approaches to leadership.
