October Med School Café: "In a Slump? Straight Talk About Posture"
| |
The Med School Café for October will feature Renee Hall, OTR/L, CHT, clinical supervisor for therapy services at the University of South Alabama department of orthopaedics.
Her lecture, entitled “In a Slump? Straight Talk About Posture,” will take place on Oct. 16, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church located at 6101 Grelot Road.
| |
Research shows that 85 percent of the population will experience back pain or injury at one point or another in their lifetime. According to Hall, 90 percent of all back injuries are preventable and in many cases can be avoided by maintaining proper posture.
| |
The lecture will include information that can be used by everyone, including people who are at higher risk - those who use computers at work. The talk will also outline techniques that participants can use to maintain good back health and a healthy posture. |
Lectures and lunch are provided free of charge, but reservations are required. To make a reservation, please call (251) 460-7770 or email kebarnes@usouthal.edu. |
