USA College of Nursing To Host End of Life/Palliative Care Update Seminar

The University of South Alabama College of Nursing will host the second annual End of Life/Palliative Care Update on Nov. 7, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The seminar will take place at the USA College of Nursing Campus Auditorium located at the 160 N. Catherine Street.

One of the speakers will be Dr. Donato Dumlao, assistant clinical professor of interdisciplinary clinical oncology. Dumlao specializes in hospice and palliative care with the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.

The objectives of the seminar are: relate the needs of the patients at the end of life; discuss interventions at end of life; and describe strategies for achieving quality care at the end of life. |
|
Physicians who attend the seminar will receive 5.5 CME hours, nurses (bring license to scan) will receive 5.5 CNE hours, and social workers and nursing home administrators will receive 5.5 credits. |

The seminar is free to attend and the registration deadline is Nov. 3. Registration is required due to limited seating. |
