The Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (ADAP), Alabama’s protection and advocacy agency for persons with disabilities, will host an individualized education program (IEP) workshop on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital in the Atlantis Room. |

The workshop, sponsored by the Mobile’s Autism Parent Support Group, will cover the special education eligibility process, how IEPs are written in Alabama, and how to become an effective IEP team member.
|

Presenters will include Tuwanna H. McGee, who has nearly 25 years of experience in the special education field. McGee has worked as a special education teacher, a state department of education program specialist and a special education coordinator. |
