The University of South Alabama Med School Café lecture series in February will feature Dr. Shyla Reddy, assistant professor of family medicine at the USA College of Medicine. Reddy’s talk, entitled “Aging Gracefully,” will take place on Feb. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church on Grelot Rd. |
| |
Reddy, a board-certified geriatrician, will discuss unique medical conditions that impact mature adults and provide insight on steps people can take to stay healthy during their “golden years.” |
According to the National Institute on Aging, by 2030 about one-fifth of the U.S. population will be 65 and older.
| |
| “As life expectancy rates continue to increase, it is equally important to improve the quality of life for individuals,” said Reddy. “Many conditions that effect older adults can be reduced or avoided completely by adopting healthy lifestyles, early detection of disease and appropriate medical management.” |
The lecture and lunch are provided free of charge, but reservations are required. For more information regarding the lecture or to make reservations, please call (251) 470-7770 or email kebarnes@usouthal.edu.
